The U.S. Small Business Administration has designated the first week in November as National Veterans Small Business Week. With Veterans Day just ahead, this is a great opportunity to talk about the many programs and resources that the SBA offers for veteran and military spouse business owners to assist them in starting and growing businesses. We'll be joined by SBA representatives in Florida who will also talk specifically about the SBA events happening during the week.
Lonnie Koyama is the Lead Outreach & Marketing Specialist for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in South Florida. He has been with the SBA for eleven years. His duties involve fostering economic development with business organizations. In addition, he counsels businesses and connects them to resources to help them start and grow.
Prior to the work with the Federal government, Lonnie had a long private sector career that includes extensive management and supervisory experience with several national retailers over an area encompassing several western states. He also served four years in the United States Marine Corps where he was honorably discharged.
Here at FAVOB, we believe that if you have served our country and done so honorably than there should be a real opportunity to start and grow your own business in the State of Florida.
